The Day In Pictures

Great resting spot along the highway, dangling my feet over the rocks, Clif Bar in hand, listening to the water reach the shore below.
A common scene along the coast, all the way from Southern Oregon to the Sonoma Coast. Cliffs and rocks rising out of the water.
A breathtaking view, looking inland from the coast. I’m standing atop one of the gnarliest climbs on the entire trip. Short, but very steep for a highway. Pictures never quite encapsulate the challenge. Around the S-curve on the right of this picture, the incline becomes truly demanding. Along this section of Highway 1, there are a handful of other, not-quite-as-challenging curving climbs.
A direct view of the same climb. Love it.
